Job Description

This position is responsible for the planning, organizing, and directing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives; having a defined beginning and end.  The project manager is to achieve all of the project goals and objectives while honoring the scope, timeline and resources, and maintaining the highest degree of quality possible given any project constraints.  This position will need to orchestrate outcomes; optimizing the scope, time and resources without compromising quality.  Planning, monitoring and controlling all aspects of a project and the motivation of all those involved to achieve the project objectives will be key elements to success.



PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Lead the planning and implementation of projects of various sizes.
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables.
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements.
  • Develop high level and full scale project plans.
  • Assemble and coordinate project staff (FTEs, Global and Domestic partners, and hosting and software vendors).
  • Manage project budget and project resource allocation.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines; track and manage to resolution project issues.
  • Track and create risks mitigation plans and track project deliverables using appropriate tools.
  • Provide direction and support to project team.
  • Assist in ensuring quality assurance.
  • Consistently monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders.
  • Present scorecards defining project progress, highlights, problems and solutions.
  • Track and manage project change requests and interventions to achieve project outputs.
  • Assemble and coordinate project resources across IS and stakeholder departments.
  • Conduct initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure phases of projects according to Lifetouch expectations and PM best practices.
  • Expand value of the project management framework through mentoring, education, and practice.
  • Complete post-project evaluations and assess results.
  • Maintain a consistent project management methodology.
  • Communicate and partner with vendors/consultants to facilitate work tasks and project status.

 ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Perform other projects or miscellaneous duties as requested or assigned.

Education:   

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or Business Administration

Experience: 

  • 6-10 years of experience in project management with small, medium, and large projects in excess of $1M
  • Successful delivery of projects with highly integrated technology components with significant impact on business operations and process

 Other (knowledge, skills, and abilities):

  • Competency in traditional waterfall and agile methodologies along with guidelines for appropriate use
  • Able to work with and support application transition from development to operation with the following teams; release management, application operations & deployments, application monitoring, helpdesk function
  • Able to work and leverage a matrix service organization; quality assurance, business analysis, and system architecture
  • Project management certification or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
  • Direct work experience in project management capacity
  • Proven experience in people management, risk management, and change management
  • proficient in project management software
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to facilitate, build teams and work with groups
  • Experience in developing and maintaining project plans, control scope, costs, issues, and risk management for project assigned
  • Experience managing the project budget
  • Google software expertise, including Project Gantter, Lucid hart, Google Sheets and Google Docs preferred.

 Physical Requirements:

 The physical requirements described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary duties and responsibilities. When performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, crawl, twist, balance, reach, use hands and fingers to perform repetitive tasks and assemble/disassemble equipment.   The employee must be able to frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds (and occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds).
