Job Description

The VP of Strategy and Business Development is responsible for leading strategy and business development to strengthen Lifetouch’s competitive position and drive growth over the long term. This position reports to the CEO of Lifetouch, Inc. Responsibilities will include: strategic planning, competitive intelligence, strategic partnerships and all aspects of Lifetouch M&A (M&A strategy, target identification, deal sourcing, deal execution, and integration). The VP will work with the Lifetouch management team in developing long-term strategic themes for Lifetouch and identifying new business opportunities in support of these themes, including acquisitions, strategic alliances and investments.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Lead the Lifetouch strategy, portfolio management and three year strategic planning process; identify growth opportunities, including market adjacencies
  • In collaboration with the CEO of Lifetouch, responsible for the facilitation, development and monitoring of Lifetouch’s three year and annual strategic plans.
  • Advocate and communicate corporate strategy within the company
  • Work with Lifetouch senior leaders in support of the annual three year strategic planning process, portfolio management, and growth initiatives
  • Develop, evaluate and lead key growth strategies for Lifetouch, including the independent photographer strategy and business photography.
  • Manage direct reports, develop talent and build an effective organization
  • Build relationships and effectively interface with Lifetouch and Shutterfly stakeholders across functions and responsibilities including senior leaders
  • Provide strategic thought leadership and analytical rigor to important business decisions
  • In conjunction with Shutterfly leadership, execute mergers & acquisitions, investments, joint ventures and strategic alliances to include the analysis, structuring and execution of transactions, including prospecting, dialogue initiation, due diligence, comprehensive financial modeling, valuation, negotiations, contract review and post-transaction integration activities.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent experience
  • MBA preferred

 

Experience

  • 12 + years of experience leading corporate strategy, strategy consulting, strategic planning and portfolio management functions, working with leaders at the business unit and corporate levels.
  • 5 or more years of management experience

  • M&A and deal-making background with experience in deal sourcing, cultivating relationships with target companies, due diligence, modeling, negotiating and closing transactions and post-merger integration management activities
