Under the supervision of a Territory Manager or a Territory Sales Manager, the Account Manager will be responsible for:   

  • Growing new yearbook business within a territory
  • Retaining yearbook business within a territory
  • Servicing yearbook customers within a territory
  • Meeting the product, sales, training and production requirements of Lifetouch Publishing       


  • Prospect for new yearbook business. Makes sales calls to school personnel, representing Lifetouch and our products in a professional and positive manner.
  • Understand territory competitive landscape.
  • Discover customer needs for yearbooks and related products relevant to customer needs.
  • Independently identify and provide yearbook product solutions.
  • Assist, coach and service all assigned yearbook customers.
  • Conduct customer visits a minimum of four times per year but potentially more often based on customer needs.
  • Ensure customer understanding and compliance to publishing deadlines and material submission requirements.
  • Comprehend and negotiate yearbook budgets and contracts to ensure they are beneficial for school and Lifetouch.
  • Complete all yearbook training programs as offered by Lifetouch Training Department.
  • Collaborate with Lifetouch Publishing Production and Customer Care personnel.
  • Conduct a minimum of one customer workshop within the territory annually.
  • Participate in and conduct training sessions for local and national scholastic journalism workshops.
  • Provide on-going support and follow-up for all LPI Marketing/Sales promotions and initiatives.
  • Access and utilize Lifetouch websites to support customer and internal processes.
  • Rebook current yearbook business with 100% retention goal.
  • Complete required paperwork (e.g. Publication Agreements, proposals, invoicing, etc) in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Complete all yearbook written and verbal communication in a professional manner. Compose correspondence as needed.
  • Collaborate with other territory yearbook specialists to exchange best business practices and identify creative solutions.
  • Collaborate with other territory photography personnel to ensure we are meeting all photography and yearbook needs of the school.
  • Maintain customer information and history in an electronic database.
  • Assess information on both LNSS and LPI sales and customer data reports and apply to sales goals.
  • Other duties as needed or assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Effective written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to sell to new and prospective customers.
  • Ability to analyze yearbook growth opportunities within a territory.
  • Problem conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to analyze product data and calculate price.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with Google for Business.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and objectives simultaneously.

Qualifications, Training, and Experience:

  • High school education or equivalency - post-secondary coursework or degree strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of one year sales experience.
  • Knowledge of printing industry products desirable.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and photo editing software
  • Familiarity with desktop publishing software preferred.
